Trekking!
Follow the leader leader leader!Sawadeekaa!
So we survived the trekking, with only one minor injury- katy falling on her ankle and then getting bruised by a rambutan seed lodged down her bandage. The first day we got the truck from the beautiful spa hotel… bit of a headache from the disco and the falling over :s lol.. but all well and I quite enjoy the truck journeys, just watching Thailand go past.. most people fell asleep.. I ate m&ms :P
Then the truck stopped in the middle of nowhere and we began our trek into the depths of the jungle! ( first pic). We pretty much followed a stream up a mountainous terrain stepping on stepping stones, or wading through as Libby preferred to do! Stopped for lunch which was a bag of rice with chicken on top, I liked it! Not sick of rice yet which is surprising!
The second day of trekking was caving and climbing the mountain that overlooked our campsite.. not every did it.. and I very proudly was 3rd to the top :D (joint 3rd lol). It was such a relief! Also the weather has been colder in the mountains so its been a welcome change! I

On top of the world! even had to where my jacket and of course my hat! (Yes my hat… which now smells of truck!). By this time we were all pretty sticky and out tent was soo gross!
The final day we did a little trek but it was getting too rainy and little too slippery so slept for a while hiding in our tents. Didn’t sleep too well the last night because the wind was literally pulling our tent from the ground! I nearly jumped on Libby! Had to get out at 6am in the dark n rain to find the peg and fix the tent… saw other people fixing theirs too.
Getting home was fun.. I think the pic iv posted explains it quite well.. But after we finally made it to the home stay we got to have nice food and a karaoke disco on the side of the lake.. so Thai! Didn’t sleep very well that night either on the tiled floor! And did a lot of waiting round for the truck which took us to another hotel.. and we didn’t he very English thing of jumping in a very cold swimming pool in the rain :D Went out
Home time!
I thought this pictured best captured the mood :P for pizza that night! Saw another white person… Old man… Is that the only western people that come to Thailand!
Yes.. Koh Samet = lots of old white men! But apart fromt hat its better than I expected.. our first night here we went and our put our stuff in our rooms which look so traditional and beachy, then we went and had spag bol on the beach and cocktails and disco.. fun!
Still getting used to the heat again but this final weeks gonna be amazing.. and gonna make me poor :P
