Edit Blog Post
Hi everyone. Its been a little while since we updated the blog but to be honest we haven't got that much news. We've really hit the island/beach scene and have just completely kicked back and chilled out. Its real nice to feel so care free and just enjoy the sun and laze around. So thers no amazing stories or pictures of tiger stroking or golden temples, but we do have golden sands. From sumui we took the catamerang ferry to Pan-nagan, and went to the resort of Hat Rin. when we arrived the weather was terrible, it was absolutely pissing down with rain, so the plan was to get straight into a guest house and settle in. After our taxi dropped us at our choosen place, he dissappeared, and off to reception we went, still in the pooring rain, to find they were fully booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so out into the monsoon again, fully loaded with our heavy rucksacks, to next doors place. FULLY BOOKED!!!!!!! this pattern continued, as did the rain. i felt it was one of those moments that me and soph were going to fall out. both stressed, soaked to the bone like never before, tension high, but all we
The Pool
Was a real treat to have a pool. did is laugh. it actually turned out to be funny. soph just looked great. a drowned rat with a rucksack bigger than her, wading through mud, shin deep pubbles etc. Adventually we settled into the Rin Beach View bungallows. A great find. only five pound each a night, with a nice room and one of the nicest swimming pool areas iv seen, as seen in pictures attached. We spent a couple of days here, enjoying the sun, the pool, and the hustle of this small, yet vibrant, town. We also discovered the best crepes in the world. For 50p you'd get a gorgeous crepe with what ever filling you could imagine. They had every kind of fruit, chocolate, mars bar, snickers the list goes on. The snickers was my fav, sophs the nutella. Onto Phuket! We were picked up at 6 in the morning by taxi, to get the seven o'clock ferry to mainland, where we'd coach it to Phuket. That morning was funny. soph, stil half asleep, went into the bathroom to discover a huge spider. I thought there was a dead body in there the way she screamed!!! The journey ahead was another long, frustrating one, which peaked
the 12hour mark the time we actually got to our hotel in Patong, Phuket. A slow ferry ride and waiting around for coaches, transferring coaches etc. These guys drive 50 seater coaches like a fuckin F1 car, quite an experience in itself.Patongs great though. Again our hotel room has a beach view, as soon on photo, an is nicer than any package holiday hotel room you get in spain etc. 4quid a night gets you an immaculatly clean room, queen size bed, sky TV, aircon, the works. Best accomodation so far. Patong is so hectic, but in a good way. Loads of stalls selling fake clothes, shoes, silk bed spreads, anything and everything. The beach is as busy, with jet skis, parasailing, nice waves rolling in to play around in.As for the night life!!! Me and soph went out on our first night here, Mums birthday, and thought we'd go for it. Get drunk, meet some people, and yes, the ultimate, go and see a Ping Pong show!!!!!!!!!ha ha. What a scream. These thai ladies, actually rather un-attractive, tubby, older thai ladies on a stage performing. They would pop these ping pong balls out and in, shoot darts out of
Crepe boy
Look at the pure delight in his eyes you know where into balloons to pop them. Play the trumpet, shoot full bananas 10feet in the air. HA HA. funny, but completely unsexual and i felt quite sick. ha. Soph was of the same opintion. we both giggled away, and were glad we saw it. We continued on the beer. Singha and Chang(evertons sponsers) are the beers in thailand. Both lovely, but Singha is 6.4% so they get you hammered. We had a good laugh and met a big group of aussies and stayed with them drinking, playing pool etc til the early hours.Well gotta go, im famished. Of to Kata tomo, which is just down the coast from here. Thailands surfing capital, so hoping to get some waves. Boards are rented on the beach there. Speak soon. Sorry the photos are bit plain but theres only so many you can take of the beach. haLove Mart and Soph xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
