Where we stayedWhere we stayedWhere we stayed

VN Guest house
We went for breakfast and then tried to reserve a room at Lamphu Guest house for March 13th but they were full. So we went on a hunt for a room somewhere else. THis will be the first time we have to venture elsewhere in Bangkok. We went to a few places, some said they don't make reservations. We checked out another which was only 200 baht a night, but the room and bed was gross so we continued on. We found a place on a back street for 360 baht which is decent. Its only one night, then we take off to Surat Thani. We then went to a place where you could make international calls because I needed to change the PIN on my US credit card. I guess I actually deactivated the card when I couldn't get the PIN right. THe mastercard guy gave me directions on how to change my PIN, it was actually pretty easy. The card should work now!! Once that was done we went back to our original guest house, checked out and played some cards in the resteraunt as we waited for our laundry to finish.

We packed up our stuff and caught a cab to the bus station. The next bus to Kanchanaburi left in an hour and a half so we grabbed a couple drinks and waited. 3 hours later we arrived. We were hassled by taxi/drivers right away, but we shoo'ed them off and decided on walking. We didn't realize it was a good 30 min walk, and we had no clue where we were going. We had our lonely planet map out, and asked people along the way and finally made it to VN Guest House. The place is pretty cool. Its right on the river. We've seen a kareoke bar float by which was pretty cool. Check out the website www.vnguesthouse.net/
