Today we traveled from Bangkok to the Kanchanaburi province, where the Bridge over the River Kwai is located. We stopped by the village of Samutsongkram, where the Siamese Twins were born in 1811. One of Thailand's handsome roosters. Thailand has had a few cases of avian flu, but no serious outbreaks. Still- I was careful to wash my hands frequently and drink bottled water.

Every inch of a temple is decorated with symbols and murals. This was the ceiling at the JEATH Temple.

This was our pool at the River Kwai Resort. It was lined in blue ceramic tile and felt wonderfully refreshing at the end of a hot day.

The resort was right next to the River Kwai. I indulged in a Thai foot massage. What a wonderful luxury!
