We arrived in Hua Hin early afternoon decided to go to pattana guest house. Pattana guest house is an old teak fishermans place, and its beautiful. It cost us 325 a night but the place was so clean and the vibe around the place was great. The owner is a dutch guy called Arno who was quite layed back and nice. It was quite similar feel around the resort. There are loads of spanking hotels and plenty of money about but it still has a great feel. There was plenty of fresh fish on offer but you can't beat the food from the food stalls back from the front, its cheap and fresh and its nice to eat with the thai people. I had my first bowl of Tom yam soup which is something else its hot and the first mouthful took my breath away. The rest of the bars and cafes i wasn't keen on it seams they are orientated around the large hotels, pricey and full of western food options. The beach was ok some rocks but didn't effect swimming so managed to spend some time in the water. We had a walk down the beach to monkey mountain but the tide was right in so we went inland and without the breeze we nearly died of heat stroke had to get a taxi the rest of the way. Monkey mountain had a temple and some Budhists monks and a few shops and more monkeys than i'ne ever seen. It was all abit touristy but it had to be done. Enjoyed HUa hin good atmosphere, secretly wish i'd had a round of golf though. We are moved on to Khao sok national park via Surat Thani. The journey to Surat Thani was a mare long and boring couldn't really sleep must get a inflatable neck thing. We ariived in surat around 10pm we stopped at a large bus station but there was no taxis and now one spoke english we tried for ages to work out where we were until a young girl (Aom) turned up with her parents trying to get to Bangkok we were so lucky because they offered to put us up for the night or atleast drop us at a hotel. A real stroke of luck we went to a reasonable hotel Thaitanni right by the bus station (200 b) had a good nights sleep. The folowing day we moved onto Khao Sok
