Phuket....take us back to Pai

We arrived in Phuket late last night and had nowhere to stay so came straight to our hotel that we had booked for tonight and tomorrow and managed to get in our room for an extra night. The room is unreal !! A very special early birthday treat from Brad out own little villa with a sea view and our own pool. It's literally our own little haven that noone can get in. Perfect!!!

Unfortunately that's the only positive so far as Brad is ill so has been in bed all day the poor thing. I felt bad sunbathing all day without him so was in and out of the room making sure he was ok. By early evening he felt ok to go for a walk (he wouldn't let me go anywhere alone) so we asked where the nearest local shop was (they are called 7 eleven out here)....I'd say half hour later we were still walking!!! With brad not feeling his best this was not what we needed and then seeing a dead snake on the side if the road made it worse!!! We eventually found a shop and got a taxi back! But we have noticed, as people have said, Phuket is definitely more expensive than everywhere else. It's also quite built up, we have a stunning sea view but if you look at the beach it looks like a resort somewhwre like Spain nothing like Thailand. I can see now why people say it's more touristy.

I definitely think coming here from Pai didn't help either but I know for sure so far Phuket has been our least favourite place. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day when we meet up with family friends of Brads Phil and Claire who are staying in the same hotel!!

So things just got a tiny bit worse we had a lizard in our room!!!! We think when our food got delivered it snuck in!! We had to ring and get it removed haha cheeky little bugger!! Thank god brad sported it though! Roll on Krabi and my birthday I say haha
