Hallo Ihr Lieben!!!

Hello everybody!
As we already told you in one of our last entries, we have arrived savely in Phuekt where we were looking forward to 10 days of relaxing, sunbathing and scuba diving :-) Welcome change for some days after the great, but still somehow exhausting first 2 months.
We also changed our overall plans amd cancelled our trip to Hongkong to have a bit more time in Thailand (and to save a bit money, as Hongkong probably is more expensive than Thailand). We will still fly to San Francisco via Hongkong from Bangkok, but we will only have a 3 hour stop in Hongkong before we fly to San Francisco. But now we at least have a reason to come back.
OK -about our time in Phuket (Patong is actually quite nice in the low season, but probably unbearable in the high season) there is not that much to tell - as always when you are just hanging out on the beach and on a boat :-)
We spend some days sunbathing and reading on the beach, although sometimes it was quite grey and a bit rainy. One can tell
that the rainy season is about to start soon. But to be honest, we did not mind the clouds too much, as it was anyhow warm enough and the sun is super intensive at this time of the year and one needs all the protection you can find (sun lotion, shade, clouds, etc.). Besides being lazy and hanging out on the beach, we spent much time reading and enjoying great Thaifood (mainly seafood). Man, we really had a great time!!!
To be honest, we did not just spent our days on the beach, we also did some days of diving!! Andrea had to do her 'Advanced Open Water' course, which included almost a full day of theory - sounds like fun, doesn't it :-) That's great for us, as of now we can do all diving together, as we have the same certification level. Afterwards we went for a day to Koh Phi Phi, where we did three amazing dives. It is just fantastique, what you can see under water! It is so colorful and manifold, but the highlights included:
- a wreck dive
- a couple of leopard sharks
- sea turtles
- sea snakes
- swarms
of baracudas
- octopus
- Tuna
- a 1.5 m potato grouper
- coral gardens
- and all the other small and big fishes!!!
Ok, as you can see, our time in Thailand / Phuklet was less eventful, but still very nice and super relaxing! Tomorrow mornig we are leaving Bangkok and will head to San Francisco, where we will meet a friend of us. We will get in touch with you as soon as we have something new to say or show :-)
Sunny greetings from Thailand!
Take care!
