So here we are at the incredible Cape Panwa Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, sitting on the south eastern
tip of Phuket island between the South China sea and the Andaman sea. The hotel is quiet and
secluded with 750m of private beach made up of soft white sand. It is nestled in the side of a hill and
even has a tram to take us from our room to the beach. We have a view of the ocean through a forest
of exotic palms.
The hotel staff is great, they cannot do enough for you. After a confrontation with the front desk over
our booking they upgraded our room to a large suite with a livingroom, bedroom and large bath. As
you enter the room the first thing you notice is a large well stocked bar. On the deck is a private
Jacuzzi, which Danny immediately tried.
We spent most of the day just wandering around the hotel grounds and playing in the water. The
water is very clean and the warmest sea water we have been in. By 5:30 we were a bit tired so decided
to have a nap before supper. We awoke this morning, both with mild cases of sunburn. I guess we did
not listen to ourselves and put on sunblock. There are many British, Australian and Scandinavian
people coming to this area, must be quite close.
At this hotel they have filmed many movies, just a few are Leonardo Decaprio “The Beach” , Pierce
Bronson “James Bond” “Tomorrow never dies”, Geena Davis “Cut throat Island” and many more such
as Elizabeth Taylor, Catherine Zeta Jones and Brian Adams
We have booked ourselves into an elephant trek, buffalo carting to visit monkeys and we are going on
a cruise on a traditional wooden junk to view the islands.
Today we will try out the food we missed out on yesterday.
