The journey to Koh Tao was definately an experience, we got an 8 hour night ferry...
67 people asleep in one room = very smelly!
We finally got our chance to get our PADI open water certificate. It was harder than we thought with a lot of theory and our dive instructor had a tough love attitude! After 3 days of sweat and bubbles he finally relaxed happy that we could dive without him!
On our 1st dive we kind of realised why he had a strict attitude, we were 8 metres deep and Rachel did not hear a boat going over our heads, the instructor had to push her down, knocking her mask off. Rachel being the cool cucumber that she is, readjusted and cleared her mask of the water (one of the skills we learnt the day before) and carried on swimming 😊
Our 2nd day of dives were much more fun, no more tests or skills etc just swimming and looking at the fish... it was awsome! Unfortunately our time in Koh Tao was mainly underwater so photos are sparse!
That night to celebrate becoming PADI certified divers we went out with our
new friends off the course...
The food in Koh Tao was mainly BBQ's which after 6 weeks of rice and noodles it was just what we needed!
