After an interesting and quirky travel day we arrived in Hat Lamai on Ko Samui. All together we took two buses, two vans and two ferries - not the most efficent arangement, but we got there. We were advised that Hat Lamai was the more quiet area of the island, but we are not so sure about that. Ko Samui is a beautiful beach island that unfortunately is really touristy, but we enjoyed our stay all the same. The place we stayed had a pool right on the beach, as do most of the resorts on the island. It was really hot so we hung out by the pool a lot and worked on our tans.

We have really enjoyed the food in Thailand. It seems like everywhere we go, from food stand to nice resturant, the food is excellent. The fruit here is out of this world! It is so much sweeter than anything we have ever tasted. We would get fruit right off the beach from venders. 20 Baht for a whole pineapple - that is about 50 cents! We found a great restaurant in Hat Lamai and the staff was super friendly. They even arranged a

The beers by the pool come in koozies! They still got warm in 10 minutes - you have to drink fast!

This man sold fruit on the beach. He would cut it so beautifully and he worked so hard carying his supplies up and down the beach in 90 degree weather.
