It's been quite a while since my last entry. We've already been in Thailand for 10 days now and I must say I'm getting used to living out of a backbag.

This is what we've done since we left Bangkok: We took a cab to visit my dad's cousin. He's married to a Thai woman. They live in a small village between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi. They've built a beautiful house and we had the pleasure to stay there for a couple of days. It was so relaxing to be in the country side again after bustling Bangkok. My dad's cousin has been living in Thailand for a couple of years already and he told us a lot about the culture and the Thai way of living. I even found out why Thai people always do say yes. It's because not knowing the answer makes them loosing their face. Therefore, it's also very inapropriate to ask any questions at all. By asking someone who might not know the answer you take the risk of bein really rude. Well, this makes me somehow understand why Thai people always do say yes even when not knowing the answer. But it also makes it more difficult to live and travel in this country without being impolite.

With my dad's cousin and his wife we went to the floating market in Ratchaburi, we walked over the bridge on river kwai and saw a huge chinese temple as well as quite some caves.

Two days ago, we took the overnight train from Nakhom Pathom to Surat Thani. The train was a lot better than I'd exspected. In Surat Thani (east coast) we took a bus to Krabi (west coast). Now, we're finally at the beach. It's called Ao Nang and it's absolutely beautiful. Here it's is also a lot more expensive than the places we've been to so far. And on thew streets you see more European than Thai faces. We're planning on hanging out here for a couple of days before heading back to the east coast, to Koh Samui more precisely.

I'm gonna try to upload some pictures now. Bye!

Welcome to Thailand
See you soon

Amazing!
Hey you guys! Thanks for the news and the amazing pictures! It sure does look very nice, like on a tacky postcard, hihi! I really do envy you right now!! It's fu**** snowing in Bern!!! Everything is covered in white powdery snow! (I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, lalalalala, only that it's END OF MARCH; HELLOOOO??)! Make sure to enjoy the gorgeous beach and don't spend all your money, otherwise you would have to come home to freezing Bern!! Big hug, Nat
