So we took a 6 hour bus journey to Chiang Khong the border town before we would cross into Laos.
This place was very nice it was a sleepy little village with a little bit more money than most places that we had visited.
WE went to our B&B the Bamboo Riverside, it was the dreamiest sort of place little huts and just on the bank of the Mekong River.
The owners were very cool they still had the 60's hippy thing going on and they had the most wonderful food on offer as they spent a little time in Mexico, he was also a dab hand at the guitar.
That evening we got a few supplies as we decided that we were going to cross the border and take a 2 day slow boat down the Mekong to our next stop Luang Prabang.
We had a tasty dinner a few bottles of beer and enjoyed the view of the mighty Mekong.
