Any one for a dip?Any one for a dip?
Any one for a dip?

The pool is a refreshing place in a city like Chang Mai! Also, with me desperate for some colour, we retreated here a few times!
It's pretty warm here (Chang Mai) but the first couple of evenings in Bangkok were chilly which lowered me in gently! Think I've adjusted quite well! The last few days outdoors have improved my colour slightly... looking forward to some time on the beach! I'm kinda looking forward to occupying myself for a while, maybe a diving course etc. I can use Sally (James' sis) as a base and hopefully it won't be too long til I meet my lover again!

For the past 3 days, Nat, I and 8 boys have been on a Trek in Chang Mai. Kat chose not to hike for hours in a vertical direction, but took her own lil trip to Nan.

The trek was amazing, about 4hrs walking up steep mountain paths on the 1st day... elephant ride was cool but we spent most of the time worrying about how they're treated and how mean it seemed to make them walk on skinny & rocky paths carrying 3 people... but maybe we worried too much!

We slept in a bamboo hut on stilts with an amazing mountinous view (I'll try to figure posting pics on the website in a mo)...

Half way up the mountain... If I look hot and sweaty it's because I bloody am!!
little Thai children came and kept us occupied (free babysitters). After dinner they all sang to us, lined up in their little outfits. Then their mothers/grandmothers gave Nat and I massages for 100baht.

Thursday we walked up and down dodgy mountain paths (Nat had no grip on her ancient Converse shoes, so she sat & slid down a lot of the dusty paths).
After about 3hrs walking, we eventually came to another tribal village & a much needed waterfall! Woo! We chilled, ate rice, curry etc. and relaxed. Phew!

Friday we finished our walk down the mountain, jumped on a raft and white-watered down a river! Good fun tho pretty lame rapids! Once we'd landed, they transfered us straight onto bamboo rafts for about an hour, to make sure we had definately earned our lunch... then back into the truck and back to the guest house... to get clean!!
We'd become quite familiar by then, so we all went out for dinner, then on to pubs & a club called Bubble! Regretting drinking quite so much now though!

It feels like I'm still on holiday, as it would... we're moving onwards again, probably tomorrow. Kat wants to

Even Alex joined in the fun!
be on a nice beach for her birthday so we're heading to Koh Tao before they fly to Oz though (27th), I have been invited to Kho Chang with James' sister which is a promising option!

You're all welcome to meet me at any part of this journey, I hope you know that!!

I'm off now! Much love and hugs doooods!
