(Gem Writes) It has been just under two weeks since we added our last entry. We have had some real adventures in that time, i just cannot believe how the time is flying! We spent a couple of days in Bangkok exploring. We met up with Sarah and Jon, a couple that we had met in Australia and had stayed in touch with. Noom made us bamboo walking poles, extremely strong and light, and invaluable for the undulating landscape.

The tree regrows, the strips of it's wood are woven together to produce strong rope.

His village is a Karen tribe. Surprisingly the culture remained extremely strong and tourism seemed to have had very little impact.

The villages still make and wear their traditional clothing, which changes on marriage.

His son adores him and here quickly runs ahead in anticipation of the ice-cream that awaits him back in Pai.
