Caught the domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and Gary and Kung met us at the airport :-)
Dropped off our gear and chatted, then lunch at a place where the locals go for lunch. No English on the menu, but the food was awesome. We ate Phad see Iew and Rad Na.
After lunch, a visit to the Ban Tawai - Wood Furniture District, acres of furniture stores send workshops.
Snooze for an hour to recharge the batteries.
Went for a walking a drive around the estate where Gary and Kung live.
Dinner = Esan-Thai Food at the Airport sporting club restaurant. Larb = Minced duck salad. Som Tam Thai = Green papaya salad. Moo yarng = Lao style bbq pork. Sticky rice. Gai yarng = Lao style bbq chicken. The beer was kept cold with ice blocks in the glass.
Chiang Mai night market after dinner, then back to Gary and Kungs to collapse into bed.
