Sit there long enough and the world walks past
Pattaya

Just spent a few days in Pattaya and have a few observations sitting in one of the rock and roll bars on walking street looking around what’s to see. A multi sensory assault is what I get.

On one side a Thai boxing match, what action why do people watch those fat fancy dressed chumps on WWF poncing about when these guys kick hell out of each other with real action for a few hundred Bhat prize money and a few dozen spectators. Many of whom stand outside with 7/11 beers only venturing in to steal a free piss and dodge the attendants 5 Bhat.

Turn your head what do you see one of the finest people watching shows anywhere assuming your not into watching high fashion or the glitterati that is, If that’s your thing then maybe you need Race day in Monaco.

Can anyone tell the difference between young Russian tourists and the girls earning a crust they sure are dressed the same, There must be almost every nationality walking past who can remember when you used to be able to make a good guess about where anyone came from those days are

What you doing here then mate
gone.

Thin tall Katoys sans arses tripping around in scanty underwear and posing for photos.

Guys with shiny beer bellies and drink problems larking around like school kids. With the mandatory shaved heads and beer label singlet.

Big black hip hop guys with shirts long enough to be mini skirts if they had a belt.

Families and tourists some Know what they were getting into and many who don’t.

The odd lost backpacker thinking they got the wrong spot as no one is very cool and completely missing the show because they are too wrapped up with the judgment of it.

Well yes and a few who get it that, they are looking at the only place in the world like this on this scale.

Badly dressed (well almost everyone) guys in tiny shorts Hot pants were not meant for you mate. (Good point guys don’t let your wife dress you if you do and she is no longer around you wont know what the hell to wear to look OK).

There are still the senior generously proportioned guys with there girls but not such a high percentage as in the past,

why not its always been OK for the rich guys no one thought anything. I don’t have the power to make relationships equal so Its OK with me.

Disabled people more and more enjoying themselves like everyone else if you have a problem with that sort yourself out.

Gigantic old Hells angel’s types who ride those noisy Cycles around showing off that they cant afford a silencer. Living the dream and walking like they own the place, though they are often to cool for Walking Street.

And the Music where else can you enjoy listening to so many sound systems all at the same time what value for money is that.

The Blues factory how many of the aging punters have Heart attacks brought on by playing Air Guitar with Lam Morrison shouldn’t we be told.

What of all the Bar girls it sure ain't the ideal job but given the unfair life opportunities on offer to most of the girls is it a choice that many seem to enjoy. I think many are OK with it some hate it and some love it who knows.

Saw a big guy (200kg) on a big

Amazing food display at the sea food street stalls on second road where I eat often, Guy outside in the road (very busy 3 lane one way street), Huge gas burner and Wok starts off with a huge flame from the Wok Talking 12 ft high fire ball here, Hits it with super fast frying of some fish and Egg dish lays it all out then throws it all back in the Wok when he is finished. Quick blast of heat then he throws the whole dish out of the wok, over the top of all the traffic and a guy on the other side of the road catches it in another wok and serves it to the person that ordered it amazing.

Beach road has a real nice beach side walk now 99% completed at last and seemingly cleared of most of the stuff of the night, Excellent spot for a holiday stroll even the pavements seem to be improving.

What’s a poor innocent overweight 57 year old supposed to make of it he said sobbing into his

It has to be said that most folk seem to be enjoying themselves immensely

have you been, what did you think of Pattaya. (You may like to try not being to judgmental here).
