Thailand! Hooray!!

As you can tell by the title I'm well chuffed to be out of Dubai and in Thailand once more 😊

The flight was fine and we got through the airport quite quickly. After the sterility of Dubai encountering an insect, best not thought about in the airport loos was a bit of a shock, but I still prefer it here so that should tell you something lol.There was a poster up at immigration saying that tattoos of Buddha are illegal here - so it's a good job I haven't got one!

We caught the train from the airport to the end of the City Line, changed onto something else, went one more stop, walked up and down loads of stairs and along the road until we found our hotel - Siam Swana. This is a lovely modern hotel fitted in between older buildings, only down side is it doesn't have outside windows in the rooms but we only needed a place to sleep for one night so fine. Most importantly it was only a couple of minutes (and up and over another bridge) away from The Rock Pub, which was why we picked it.

We were pretty worn out with the travelling and the time difference is confusing again, but we fortified ourselves with wine courtesy of Emirates airlines and set off ready to raaaaaawk! Actually I was a bit dubious about what the place would be like and expected us and about 2 others to be it, so I'm really pleased to say I was wrong. It was FAB, great little venue, great crowd and a really excellent live band playing some decent metal. Beer (lager) was £3 a bottle. We had a hoot, talked to some great people from all over the world, had the bar staffs life trying on a t shirt but sadly due to strangely neck syndrome didn't purchase, hit a lad from Singapore who said my e-cig would be confiscated when we go there (hasten to add had already hit Howard as they were both taking the mick), band played Ace of Spades for us and we all staggered out when the place shut at 2 am.Cracking night
