Edit Blog Post
So its been a while since my last blog, but to be fair I haven't really been doing that much. I spent a few more days on Phuket. Rather than going to Karon beach which was at the end of my street, I decided that a change of scenery would be good, and decided to take the ten minute walk to the next beach Kata. Whereas you were unable to swim in the sea on Karon beach, there were no such problems at Kata. You could walk out quite calmly into the sea, and not fear being picked up by the waves and face planted back on the beach. I guess that even though it is on the same side of the Island, it is more protected by coral reefs and an Island. There was also a lot more beach, so no nasty waves jumping in my lap whilst I am not looking.
For rainy season I couldn't complain at all. The whole time I was down in Phuket, it was blue skies and sun all day. And to think, it had been pouring down there just the week before. The lady that was running the hotel was most upset
that it wasn't raining for some reason. Probably wanted to get rid of me.
Rather than take another long trip on a bus back to Bangkok, I decided to fly instead. It cost about twenty pounds more, and took around a twentieth of the time. Although I did have to put up with the couple next to me making out the entire way. His hand in her lap, descreetly covered by her very small jumper. I wanted to shout at them that it really didn't work. But just satisfied myself by staring straight at her and smiling like a maniac whilst she was pulling some very funny faces...
I came back to Bangkok to see if I could change my ticket home. I went to see Qatar Airways, and the best they could offer me was 18th September. A whole two days earlier. For the the princely sum of one hundred pounds! Needless to say, I declined their lovely offer and decided to keep to my original flight. There were also no cheap flights available until a couple of weeks before I was due home anyway, so I decided to stay was the best option, knowing that I
had at least covered every option.
Rather stuck with what to do next, I have done nothing! Well I have stayed in Bangkok, taking it easy. Having some wonderful nights out with random people I meet. I am still recovering from a night on the tiles with a crazy Ozzie biker. Really cool bloke, but parties harder than I am used too nowadays. I got back to my hotel around seven in the morning from that one. I hope the damage is not permanent.
I also found out that I have ticked off my list of things to do before I die, Play Big bushy beard on a Chileans beard! I never knew that I wanted to do this, but after the event I was so impressed I knew it must have been on the list somewhere! It was a most impressive beard, I was quite drunk and he was a very surprised man. Luckily I had been chatting to him and his girlfriend for the last few hours, and had continually mentioned just how great the beard was. Still don't think he expected a 'Hot Fuzz" moment when I got up to leave though. Strangely I never
saw the couple again.
I have also managed to have breakfast with possibly the biggest cock in Bangkok, if not Thailand. Enough said.
After two weeks of the madness that is me in Bangkok, I have finally decided to head elsewhere. What tan I managed to get in Phuket is already starting to look rather faded, so I am heading down to Kho Pan Ngan to try and see if I can't get myself a bit brown. Speaking to people that have just come back from there the weather has been good, so hopefully it will hold up for me as well.
