Day 1

We have actually made it here which is quite impressive. The plane was awesome - we watched Hairspray which we would recommend. (Sophie's enthusiasm about the long haul flights has not wavered at all since we left London!). We very nearly got scammed by a fake taxi driver outside the airport, however this was cleverly evaded...taxi was quite scary though...sooo much traffic!
Luckily we found Sophie M and her friend Kascha in Khao San road, which is the busiest street ever, and checked into the hostel before dinner. Today, Louise's birthday, we (all 4 of us) went round Bangkok in a Tuk-tuk which is a fairly hair raising ride and visited the Grand Palace. It's so glittery especially because they're preparing for the King's birthday so there are all these fairy lights and they seem to have put a lot of effort into decorating the traffic islands which is nice.
We have just been for a swim and it's a bit cooler now any way because it's evening.
