Hualampong
Tring to negotiate the train scheldues at Hualampong Today was a long day. We started off taking the train at Bangkok Hualampong station to Ayuthaya and spent the afternoon cycling in Ayuthaya. Our plan was to go on to Kao Yai National Park in the evening and the spend a night camping there. This blog
The train ride to Ayuthaya was pleseant and comfortable (1st clast reclining air-conditioned seats) as it costed a substential chunk of change (160Bht each).
It was poring when we arrived at Ayuthaya and we waited 15min for the rain to slow down to a drizzle. We reached headed for the Chao Phrom River and crossed it by the public ferry (2Bht each).
We proceeded towards the ruins w/ our full packs and it was only a matter of minutes before we start to feel the heat, humidity and the heaviness weigh us down. We checked our bags at Ayuthaya hotel and feel much lighter thanks to lack of the backpacks. As suggested by the trusty guide, there was an outfit renting bicycles for 40 Bht for the day which we gladly paid. I haven't ride a bike for years and thus felt elated by the rush of the wind as I

Crossing the river to get to Ayruthaya cycled down the streets of Ayuthaya besides the acient temples. As for the temples themselves, I'll not bother to describe them as pictures will do much better justice to them the words.

Hey Bro, great to hear from you... I was kind of getting worried since you disappeared from the blog for awhile. Its a good idea to take a break in Singapore before embarking on the next adventure. I will try to join you at the last part of your journey... Cheers, Terence
