Our Tuk Tuk to Ayutthaya train station
After a huge week of bus trips, guesthouses, crazy bike riding through Thai traffic and exploring ruins in Central Thailand, we were ready to hit the big smoke of Bangkok to reconnect with civilization. We had to wait for nearly 2 hours at Ayutthaya train station for our train to Bangkok, so we had plenty of time to reflect on our Ayutthaya favourites...

Favourite attraction:
Todd: Sunset long tail boat trip
Anya: Wat Chai Wattanaram at sunset
Jasper: Wat Chai Wattanaram at sunset
Phoebe: Sunset longtail boat trip

Favourite food:
Todd: Pad prik blah meuk (spicy squid) at street stall
Anya: Noodle soup at Uncle Lek's
Jasper: Deep fried squid at riverside night market
Phoebe: Noodle soup at Uncle Lek's

We had a big surprise waiting for the kids when we arrived in Bangkok...they were expecting the tuk tuk to take us to a guesthouse as we'd told them, but lo and behold...we rocked up at the Royal Orchid Sheraton for a few days of luxury to regroup before the next part of our trip. They were both beside themselves with excitement...it's such a beautiful spot right on the river and we all feel like we deserve a
