coconut bungalow on long beach
near ozone bar- joe was such a lovely owner.xxx 29th nov
I woke up early to say goodbye to Jess as today I’ve decided to move to Long Beach as there is a bit more life there. Patrick and Justin were up that way too. I went to the t travel Agent/internet café and they gave me a lift on the moped up to long beach to Coconut Bungalows. This was near Ozone bar and were such great value for money 250bht per night!!
A guy named Glenn got in touch with me and said he was in Phi Phi and was travelling alone, so I said why not pop over to Ko Lanta and meet me? He agreed so I reserved a bungalow for him and then headed to the beach. From the beach you can see Pho Phi, and Bamboo Island and also Bida Nok and Noi. Glenn called me when he was on the island and I asked him to meet me on the beach. Earlier id seen a guy take the room, I didn’t realise it was Glenn until I was him on the beach later. We had a drink and got some food and luckily he turn out to be really lovely. On the
glenn in the sunset
hes not really that red, it the sun you know! way back to the bungalows I bumped into Patrick and we arranged to meet later at Funky Fish Bar before heading to a beach party at Korner Bar at the end of Long Beach. As we walked along the beach we were almost treading on the ghost crabs darting out of our way. We got to the end of the beach and were met with an area where the sea was coming into a river. It looked quite shallow so we started to wade through. Well…. It wasn’t so shallow and we go quite soaked but we were determined to get to the party.
When we arrived the party was quite chilled. Maybe 50 people max but the drinks, music and people were great. I did start to feel as if I was coming down with a cold so went to bed pooped.
30th November
I woke up at 3 in the afternoon feeling really ill. I cant believe I have a cold in Thailand! I went to find Glenn on the beach, had some dinner and watched the sunset. I feel soo chilled right now. I could stay here forever. Justin and Patrick went to
Phi Phi today, I really wanted to go but feeling ill I think rest is the best thing for me. No booze for me for a while. I cant believe only have 2 1/2 weeks left. Crazy.
1st - 5th November
Well it finally happened the clouds have gone and the proper sunshine has finaly come! Praise the lord. The first thing I did was go to the medical centre as I was convinced I had Malaria- turns out it was just a cold. As I was walking along the street in Bansaladan I saw Sophie and the Belgian crew I met in Ayuttaya. I told them to come to Funky Fish for a drink tonight( they were in the back of a trunk with all their pack having just arrived)
Turns out Patrick and Justin were still on Ko Lanta as Justin had been a little ill. I told them we’d be at FF tonight so they join Glenn and I for some drinks and sebastia and the Belgium crew got wasted and bought a load of lanterns which we let off on the beach. The wind was blowing the wrong way so a lot of
the lanterns nearly got stuck in the trees or worst the bar!
The next day I was feeling loads better. Not 100% but better. The boys finialy went to PhiPhi and I chilled with Glenn. We met a really nice group of people on the beach. This was J, Ed, Sophia, Mike, Maria and Stephanie who was my bungalow neighbour. We all hung out on the beach for the next two days tanning, chatting, swimming and generally getting to know each other. They were all staying in the Ozone bungalows near us. We found a great place to eat that was soooo cheap. Mr Greens on the main road. This was much cheaper than all the places on the beach and the portions were man size. Well in fact Ed and J would have 3 plates between them. But you need good food energy when you spend all day on the beach.
Sophia and Maria were leaving tomorrow for KL to meet Maria cousin so we again went to Mr Greens and then went to the beach. We went to this bar where they had a really good fire show. There was this one chap that was
sooo fit. He had this huge dragon tattoo down his back. All the girls, including myself were drooling over him. I think the boys felt a little put out.
Unfortunately as one of the lads was saying goodbye to Sophia, she leant back and a huge black dog bit her head. And so that was how we said goodbye… mike and maria took her to hospital and we all went to bed a little shell shocked really. What a horrible way to finish a fantastic few days with some great people.
So now im sat on the beach writing this trying to decide where to go next. I think ive sold Glenn and J on Ko Lipe. Oh well lets think about it tomorrow. There is a party at ozone tonight to well have some fun. Mike, J, Glenn, Stephanie and Ed are still here to play. It is the kings birthday at midnight and the party was pumping. I was quite drunk. Tomorrow is meant to be a no booze day in respect for the king so we decided it was best to get really drunk tonight.
Mike and I ended up staying up all night
with Love and the Ozone boys. I also rembember having a morning, drunken swim with Mike. Brilliant. We went to bed at about 9am and then I woke up at 13.00 to get to the beach. Glenn, J and myself decided to go to Ko Lipe tomorrow. Mike decided to go to Langawi and Ed wanted to go north. We had to get loads of cash out as this island has no ATM.We then had a few drinks and decide to call it a day and pack
