I've only been in Taiwan a few days and so much is happening! I'm one of a group of 30 artists from around the globe who have come together to create the 5th annual Dream Parade in Shijir City, about a half hour drive from Taipei. There are artists from the United States, France, India, Mexico, Thailand, and Indonesia, as well as Taiwanese. In addition to the Parade itself, there will be a "Moon Theater", an evening performance with giant puppets entitled, "Dream of Formosa", which will chronicle the history and culture of Taiwan.
For a look at some of the work I've done stateside, I have a picture site on flickr:

Carmen Bird 1Carmen will help to create a flock of stilted bird puppets.
Soccer MomsI'm working with a group of soccer moms who want to create large soccer balls for themselves and their children to wear on their heads.
Snake Head 1This is a large snake head that a local boy scout troupe is working on. It was sculpted from clay, then covered with papier-mache.
Head Masks 1A variety of animal masks are being created from paperboard.
Bicycle FishSeveral artists and community members will be creating animal bicycles. Here is a bicycle fish created by US & Thai artists.

Thanks for sharing, Thaddeus. This looks like quite an adventure and a real international cultural exchange. I'm sure this will be an experience you will always remember. I look forward to hearing more...Barbara
