because I live in a big city I have sweet night markets, department stores, food, clubs, bars and the list goes on....though you would think I would have some pretty cool foreigners here, haha I have yet too name TWO, my friends still want to come my way when they are tired of their small towns (not to mention names, there will be a day when Muoy, Mike, and Jas get really really really really lonely and bored and can't resist the dirty south--anna too but her excuse is better-she is on the other side of the island)!!! Though when Rachel and Holly come down we are always so insistent on meeting new friends, well according to a certain someone I appear to be "unnaprochable" and "emotionally unavailable" so that is one reason I usually don't talk to many people, or it can also be the fact that when I (along with another) consume a few too many drinks, which causes one to be in the bathroom the whole night, or struggling to make a complete sentence or even remember a name or it could also be a fact that some foreigners here are just plain "different," in a
totally unexplainable way..maybe because the people who work at the buchibans have a hostile attitude towards those of us emplyed by the MOE, because we are SPOILED, LOADED, SPOILED, we "WORK" (if you can even call it that) and SPOILED-oo yeah and they get our bratty kids on early outs and holidays why we are enjoying our time off-ha-aint our problemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
This last week I was quite a popular girl with my possey of friends (oo yes by the way-one of my students drew a picture of Teacher Mary and her friends for me and this is what it looks like--yeah shes pretty amazing!!!) anyways, holly is spoiled up north and her school was having testing so she got two days off of school and because she wanted to eat some steak so bad and go shopping she came down to the dirty dirty south!!! So we hit up the Love River (where we purchased some AMAZING glass blown objects- the man even made us a "present" because we purchased so much), the night markets, and Friday's for some western food, where her sizziling steak resembled some sick ass hamburger with nappy ass rice and im sorry but it was
just sick sick sick....but my spicy chicken noodles were yummmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! She came during the week, so pretty much we ate, shopped, and went to a movie---
I STILL HAD TO WORK This weekend Rach came down to hang out, we intended to try and find us an 80's costume for Halloween, but slowly realised that maybe we should decide upon something else, since most of the Taiwanese clothing here resembles the 80's so we would just look "normal" so now...we will become "The Pussy Cat Dolls" haha actually we will jsut be wearing black with cat ears and a tail refering to ourselves as "pussy cats" get it...ok good!! (and i did just get the word that muoy will finally be joining our adventure-though it will take place in Taichung--someday someday she will grace the dirty south with her presence--oo yeah and mike is coming too--yeah yeah yeah-holly will be an angel since she already has "wings")...
speaking of Halloween I can't wait for this Friday at school, we are having our halloween party-and they want me to be a Witch-haha its going to be so funny---i am teaching the whole school how to trick or treat and some jokes and a song and i have to decorate a tent to resmeble a ghost house (hmmm little confused about how that one will work) and our English song contest is Friday and my fifth graders have no dancing skills (maybe cuz they are learning from me) but it will be quite interesting to see if they actually will focus and pull of the dance and song for friday...otherwise my principal will be looking at me with bug eyes and a green face-haaaaaaaaaa... Back to this weekend.....rach and i just did some shopping and discussed how that if at home in America if two men were riding on a scooter (straddling each other) wearing a pink helmet with a shoulder bag they would be considered "gay" but here its so normal and i like that--i like that the guys here carry the girls' purses, that they can dress feminine and look hot and not be "gay" and
i like how they have sweet pink helmets and smirk at you when you laugh at them when you catch them dancing off the steps to a coffee shop-and i like how the boys at my SMILE gas station are all cute--lastly i like how i have a fond liking over a man who speaks little English and holds a flag to stop traffic when the kids cross the street for school... ok sorry back again to this weekend...we went out with some friends...though she had quite an early night on saturday--i think the taiwan vino--kicked her on her ass/ the toilet-so to say the least--though while she was having a conversation with a white porcelin "man" I met some people...yes thats right and i think we could have been friends...too bad one his heading back home to South Africa and one lives in Taipei..completly on the opposite end of the island as me, so whatever---though I have gained a "friendship" with Chris, another foreigner who works at my school that does that after school program! So as I venture up North this weekend for Halloween--I have every intention to have a purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-fect time.....
