Vice-captain Ollie Sale's supposed responsibility and consideration deserted him today as he forgot to wish Mr Turner
a happy birthday. This also applies to Max Ritchie who was appointed deputy fines master today, one of his proudest
moments.
There was much disappointed and unrest amongst the squad, namely Charlie Gent, for the lack of chocolate sauce with
the waffles.
There was one member of the squad who wasn't disappointed whilst queueing for the waffles though. This was womaniser Ben Simon who found himself flirting with a young lady to the great jealousy of Hugh Barron who likes to think of himself as a 'cool guy'.
One onlooker hinted that the conversation only extended to 'how long are you staying for'which was repeated on numerous occasions.
Today we played Leo Cricket School and having lost the toss we restricted the hosts to 187 all out after some tidy overs in the middle of the innings resulting in a hat-trick from Connor Stuart-Smith. Dismay ran through the squad as we learned we were playing some twenty year olds and many sported beards. After Barron got us off to a flier with an inspirational 5 from 12 overs we really thought we were in with a chance! Runs flowed from Messers Ellwood, Gent, Simon, S-Smith and Scaglioni who amassed a combined a total of no runs between them.
Evetually we fell to a 40 run defeat, however Liam seemed happy to protect his average. The coach journey was mainly
uneventful until Cave decided it was Ok to stroll out of the bus without shorts, much to the amusement of the hotel staff.
