In this picture they were posing for their photographer. In many of their pictures it appeared as if they were positioned in very awkward postions by the photographer. He was very pushy and demanding.
I was invited to a Korean wedding so I jumped at the offer because I have never really been to a wedding - Korean or North American. Although I have never been to a traditional wedding back home, I still believe that I know what it would be like. Needless to say, this Korean wedding was VERY different. The ceremony took place in a wedding hall, with about 150-200 guests. The actual ceremony was only about 20 minutes, because after the wedding I attended, their is a whole other group of people waiting for the next wedding. It was all rush, rush. During the actual ceremony, it seemed that a lot of the guests were laughing ang talking - some even on their handphone (cellphone)!! I'm pretty sure that this wouldn't fly back home, but here it seemed normal because I was the only one starring in disbelief. Different country, different culture. After the regular ceremony the guests go into another room where there is an all you can eat/drink buffet. During this time, the bride and groom go into a smaller, seperate room and get dressed in their hanboks (traditional Korean gowns). There is a small ceremony for this,

Unfortunately they were all looking at someone else's camera.
usually only witnessed by imediate family, then they join the others at the buffet.

All in all it was a very interesting and enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Once everything was wrapped up at the wedding hall, a group of us (the bride and grooms good friends...maybe 20 people in total) went to a local bar to hang out. It was fun to experience this as well because I got to participate in a few Korean drinking games! Good times all around!!
