Three weekends ago we went to Lotte World which is like the city amusement park. It was pretty entertaining, however when you went through some of the slow entertaining rides like pirates of the Caribbean it was all in Korean so we sort of got bored. They did have a couple good rollercoasters, but my favorite was a balloon ride that went over the entire park! Lotte Word is an indoor and outdoor amusement park that also has a movie theater, skating rink and bowling alley, but of course that all costs extra. They have animated characters that look an awful lot like Minnie and Mickey but Korean style. They also had a snow white tower isn’t that plagiarism? Well snow white did have blonde hair so I guess that makes it ok!

Two weekends ago we went on a tour to a volcanic island called Ullungdo. This island is right next to the infamous Dokdo Island which the Koreans and Japanese are fighting over ownership. It was a five hour bus ride and then a 2.5 hour ferry to the island. the first day we went on a hike around the island on this beautiful path to a light house. The entire trail was winding around the island so we had a constant view of the ocean. On the way back down we found a bridge that went over the ocean and we decided to jump in, Josh had a blast, but it scared the crap out of me especial because I mostly doggy paddle! Climbing back up to the path was a little bit more difficult due to the jagged coral and volcanic rocks. That night we went up a cable car to an observatory of Dokdo, but it was too hazy and we couldn’t see anything. The next day we had the option to go to a rock island called Dokdo which was a $50 five hour ferry ride round trip to only be on the island for a maximum of a half hour, or to go on a hike up the highest peak. Easy decision right? However the hike was insane. It lasted 5 hours and was straight up most of the time. Someone counted there were 1,612 stairs that kicked out butts! We were so sore the next day. On the last day of the trip, we jumped off that bridge a couple more times

and hung out on the rocky beach.

Last weekend we went bungee jumping. The highest crane in Korea happens to be ten minutes away from our house. It is a 45 meter crane (147 ft) that is over a lake. At least the water would break our fall! I would have to say it was one of the most exciting things that I have ever done. The rush of the initial fall was intense. They had to count down like three times before I finally mustered up enough courage to take the leap. After we jumped we sat and had the best beer ever and decided to go on a bike ride around the lake. We rented a tandem bike, which I will never do again. It was challenging trying to balance the bike with another person on the back. We also went to Dongdaemun which is the original gates to Seoul. This place is fun to go at night because not only is there a lot of shopping, but also many stages set up with different types of bands.
