Ah, little help..please
So he was digging his scoop into the sand and then pulling himself forward....not sure why... The continuation of pictures from our weekend trip to Busan.
While walking the smaller beach we saw from a distance a large fairis wheel and we decided that that might be a fun thing to do considering it was such a beautifully clear sunny day.
After walking and walking we finally came upon the small mountain where it was, along with many other amusement park rides.
The place was called "Me World". (I don't know why, but it is still funny!)
We paid the small fee and then proceeded to go on almost all of the rides.
Starting with a Drop Zone like ride, except it didn't just drop us, it actually shot us up first, bounced up and down a bit and then slowly pushed us higher until we reached the top and then held us up at the top for about a minute before it suddenly dropped us to the bottom.
The view at the top was beautiful but a bit windy. (especially since I was in a sun dress)
After that we hit the Merry-go-round, the flying swings, the water log flume ride along with the bumper cars and then on to the mini roller coaster (which was
actually pretty scary) followed by the relaxing and very high fairis wheel. (we enjoyed a little KimBap picnic while inside our car for the fairis wheel) We then went back to the bumper cars several more times and then ended again with the Drop Zone like ride.
A few hours had passed and then it was into a taxi to go to the Busan Aquarium. SOOOOoooo glad we took a taxi. We would have been walking and searching for hours!
The Aquarium was very large and extensive with all kinds of under water life.
Several individual tanks along with one very large shark tank which included a glass tunnel. Very cool!
I recommend all the activities except the 3D ride. It was a little disappointing.
Listening to the young boy freak out was the most fun part of it.
That night when we returned to the hostel and we were introduced and then talking with our other fellow travellers, it came up in conversation that it was one of their birthdays.
So the owner of the guest house made what is called Jong, or something like that. Basically it is a giant pancake made with egg and flour
along with any number of other ingredients, including Kimchi, seafood, spinich, veggies, spam and I am sure many others.
We lit a candle and had the birthday boy blow it out as we sang Happy Birthday to him.
The next morning Sarah and I awoke to find a note from Jeffrey which read that he hadn't slept all night due to extreme pain behind his ear and that in the early morning he went to the hospital and that that is were he currently was.
So after texting Jeffrey and getting ourselves ready for the day we ended all meeting up at about 3pm healthy enough to go and enjoy a walk around the big famous Fish market.
It was thoroughly fascinating and disgusting!
The sights and smells were intoxicating.
As we walked I sang the Irish melody Molly Malone. 😊
The sun started setting and the air was cooling off, and since both Sarah and I were in sun dresses that day, we thought it was time to start heading to warm territory.
We happened upon a Internation Film Festival (looked like a permanent thing rather than a special event) and we decided to get a
little nosh. (a small bit to eat)
Sarah and I found fried sweet potato that had been fried in honey. Yummy!
And then....we found Candied Strawberries!
Yes, you read that right! They were selling candied apples too, but the strawberries were to die for!
Incredible!
I love strawberries, and usually I am of the thought that they need nothing added to them, no sugar, sauce or anything, but this was one of the best things you have ever tasted!
I highly recommend it to anyone!
(just don't tell your mom or your dentist!)
Then we went to the Hot Springs which apparently is the largest in Asia.
So warm and relaxing!
It was Sarah's first time so it was quite the experience for her but I also had never gone to all the parts of this particular one before either.
(Hot Springs in Asia means NO clothing!)
There is a co-ed section where they give you hospital like clothing and we did meet up with Jeffrey there, but after an hour or so of enjoying the various hot tubs, sauna and pools.
(things like a salt bath, jasmine bath-- florescent green, and a grape bath--bright purple)
crazy!
The
Alive alive oh, alive alive oh...
singing, cockles and muscles and clams alive oh following morning we left and got back onto the KTX train for another 3hr. train ride back home to then teach that afternoon and night.
(remember our teaching schedule is from 4pm to 10pm)
All in all a wonder and memorable holiday!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!
😊
