Hey all,

So from Phuket we flew to Singapore; deciding that we didn't really have the time to go through Malaysia and that we weren't that bothered about it anyway! We stayed just outside the main city in an area that reminded us both a bit of China.

Singapore was a little like Hong Kong. It was certainly more expensive than any other part of Asia! So much more developed though. Their 'underground' system was very clean and easy to use, much more than at home! And everything was in English, there were hardly even any translations.

While there we visited Little India and Chinatown. They are both areas in Singapore which are literally like being in either India or China. In Little India for example, they have Indian products and magazines and shops and everything. We also explored a lot of the City. Unfortunately it was Chinese New Year at the time so a lot of things were closed. The shopping malls were amazing though. You could walk across the whole city without ever leaving them! We went in Tiffany's and looked all serious like we were going to buy something (haha!!) and even found a New Look! We also went to Raffles which was very posh and quite colonial.

Our highlight, though, was the zoo! We thought it was the best one either of us had been too. A lot of it was like a jungle and the animals were often pretty much wild! We saw an elephant show and, best of all, some white tigers. Very cute apart from their carnivourous mannerisms of course!!!

We'll make sure we update this entry with photos soon.

From there we flew on to Cairns... x
