In Australia, we learned that...* Australia is nearly the same size as the US but has only 20 million people. Half of them live in 6 cities
* water is a huge issue for these 20 million people. Everyone talks about the lack of water and drought conditions, but we somehow managed to get rained on every single day that we were in Australia
* Triple J Radio is good, but morning DJs are no less annoying in Australia than in the US
* Russell Crowe's band actually tours Australian clubs
* you really do hear the song "Down Under" down under
* Chris seriously questions the necessity of Justin's purchase of Michael Jackson's #1 Hits as the only CD in the car
* Australians love to add "y" to things - "brekky" (breakfast), "mozzie" (mosquito), "sunnies" (sunglasses)
* an entree is an appetizer not a main course
* Australians take their ice cream very seriously. We thought Anderson's Ice Cream in King's Cross was some of the best we've ever had, but the other options were plentiful and good.
* the beer isn't very good. New Zealand's has it all over Victoria Bitter and Touhey. Cooper's was the best of the bunch.
* roads can flood
* somehow, like in the movies, rain can poor and then just turn off instantaneously
* there is an awful lot of Kangaroo roadkill
* when you drive on the lefthand side of the road, you have less room on the left than you thing you do
* there is no need to stop in Rockhampton
* it is difficult to spend three consecutive nights in 3 different cities
* that the Whitsundays are really named the Cumberland Islands
* that Phar Lap is the real Seabiscuit
