Changi airport in Singapore is a magnificent airport filled with soothing classical music, real plants and an ambience rarely found in what can be hangar like structure in many other countries.

It’s an easy flight from Australia; enough to have a sleep, watch a couple of movies and eat two meals.
Multilingual signs are everywhere for everything, I think I saw the most amount of public toilets and drinking fountains I have ever seen in one place.

Drink fountains are automatic and so is the flushing mechanism on the toilet. Once you get up it flushes, it gave me a little fright, as I wasn’t expecting it.

Everything is clean, spick and span, and vast.

There are real flowers, beautiful orchids along the vast walkways, and a sense of order. Free Internet terminals abound, altogether a really pleasant experience if you are in transit.

High speed trains take you from one terminal to the other, with Terminal 3 having showers, gym, free movies and a huge amount of shopping and food outlets.

I got a taste of what is waiting for me in China when I arrived at my departure gate. Mostly Chinese nationals were waiting for the flight and conversations are conducted loudly, animatedly, and across the room. When the flight was called and certain rows were to board first, this was ignored and it was everyman for himself to get on board.
