Hi Followers and bloggers,
I some how managed to get up and watch the Super Bowl which was at our 6am!!! I was shattered but had a few beers and chicken wings while watching it with some American lads!! I was gutted as it was the last quarter and we had to head off for our bus to the airport 😞 I missed the worst play in Super Bowl history gutted!!!
So we got on the bus to the airport which was good as it was quicker than the taxis and a lot cheaper!!! Bangkok airport is quite nice and offered free wifi which is a bonus!!! We grabbed some lunch there which was not the best but wanted to get rid of the baht we had left over!!!
So the flight into Singapore was good no free drinks or food which sucked but I asked the girl on the desk if we could get extra leg room and she gave us seats which were amazing made the flight so much better!!! (even if it was only a 2 hour flight).
Once we arrived I got pulled up for
the first time for having so much medication, however once they saw my doctors note they had no problems. We had decided to get a taxi to Beth's apartment, the metro was cheaper but if would have put us a good 10 min walk from her place with us not having a clue how to get there!!! The taxi should have been 20-30 dollars however they put us in a Mercedes and it was peak time so cost us 42 dollars, we were gutted!!!!! 😞
Beth's apartment/Condo is amazing, it's four bedrooms and the people she is sharing with all seem nice and not too put out with us staying here!!! We have the sofa and an airbed which is good and the fact it's free is amazing!!! Once Beth got home at 7pm we headed out to the city.
We got some cheap dinner by the condo at the local hawkers centre then we headed got the metro to Marina Bay, where we watched the light show at the 'Gardens by the Bay'. Was like walking around Pandora forest from Avatar. Really worth seeing-lasts for about 15 minutes and it's free. We then
walked past the posh 'Marina Bay Sands' hotel that has a boat shaped roof and an infinity pool which is meant to be really good. We walked through the helix-DNA bridge across the river to Raffles Ave. Along this road we could see the big Singapore wheel, Fairmount hotel and Raffles Hotel. We went into the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel where we bought a Singapore Sling each (when in Singapore). They were good but expensive (£15 each), they also had a live band playing. Afterwards we headed back to the condo as it was getting late.
That's all for now, big day of sight seeing tomorrow...... hope Neil is feeling a little better as he ate ate something dodgy in Bangkok this morning we think and has not been able to eat since!!
Love N&V X
