We came to San Juan to get away from the cold for a day before heading back to Manila. The bus ride was short and sweet being only 2 hours. We were dropped off right outside the hotel. The room isn’t worth the money we are paying…but there aren’t many options. San Juan is known for surfing. A lot of Australians and Japanese come here to surf. Lessons are quite cheap so Tris decided to give it a try for an hour. His instructor said he must wear a wet shirt or the board would make his nipples raw. Good thing he did because his legs got a little rub burn. He struggled for the first bit, but by the end of his lesson he was standing up and surfing the wave into shore. He said after an hour he was pretty tired and ready to come in for a break.
