The top of the world!
We were awoken at 6.00am by the phone after a great sleep exhausted from our Jungle Adventure. the phone call was from Manesh our tour guide who unbeknown to us had booked a Mt Everest flight, 3rd time Lucky! The funny thing was that Manesh had actually rang the kids room first by mistake and said "Are you taking your Mt Everest flight this morning ?" and Nikki replied "No thankyou" ! Thank goodness he rang our room and we looked at the clear skies, dragged the kids out of bed for yet another attempt to see the highest point in the world. Because we weren't prepared we were running late and Manesh had things organised so it was like express in and onto the Plane, no waiting around. The flight was amazing! What a Himalayan experience. We were flown right along the Himalayan ranges seeing several of the highest peaks in the world including Mt. Everest. We were able to each have a turn of going into the cockpit of the plane for a close up view of Mt Everest. This experience was spectacular, with amazing views and was certainly a "high" of the trip. In my euphoric state I said " I just want to sing "Sitting on top of the world" (Delta Goodrem) and was quickly told by Nikki "Don't"!.Still think of Mt Everest every time I hear that song however.when we returned to the Hyatt it was definitely time to relax and chill out. The kids were happy to swim and have time away from Lou and I. Lou and I ventured out and explored the largest Stupa in Nepal called " Boudananth" . Boudanath is a flourishing centre of Tibetan monks/ Buddhism. Once again we were amazed by this religion, and observed people chanting, meditating and worshipping. The huge dome at the Stupa has penetrating red, yellow and blue "all seeing" eyes. Underneath the Eyes there is a temple. Surrounding the eyes are lots of shops and restaurants which were fun to explore. We did return to the Hyatt to check the kids who were more that happy to keep relaxing and content with Canapes for dinner. Lou and I returned to Boudanath with the aim to sample true "Tibetan" food. We found a cafe situated under the Stupa's eyes and thought we were adventurous with what we ate. I had a noodle soup with rice

and a huge dumpling. Lou ate a pretty hot curry and consumed a whole chilli which sent him into a whole body sweat and almost a convulsion. They gave us sweets which were tiny dumplings, which tasted a little like golden syrup dumplings with cheese on top! After our adventurous dinner we walked back in the dark to the Hyatt which was a little scarey. We had to walk down reaady made laneways, which was just a tad creepy.
