We sit quietly on the banks of the river. The calm waters reflect the diminishing glare of the late afternoon sun as it sets to the west, lulling us into wonderfully absent minded reverie. The storks, herons and other water birds seen during the day have since vacated the river and there is little sign of the crocodiles known to frequent these shores, save for the occasional bark from a watchful... Hefferlumps!
Love your pics of the elephants...or hefferlumps as Donna always calls them. It\'s good to hear that they are being treated well there in Chitwan and nice to see elephants still with their tusks, something you don\'t see all that often in Asia.

It is rare to see the tusks

Thanks guys
Really kind words...if only a few (thousand) more people though we were book worthy, we could travel forever! Wishful thinking...Hope you're well and safe!

Our sort of journey!
Thanks for sharing this with us. Nepal has to be on our list for 2013!

Its a great place
somewhere we both want to go back to. There is a definite tourist circuit there but still an enjoyable place. I think when I (Chris) go back, I want to do the Mustang Valley...its off the beaten track a bit but permits are expensive ($50US per day!)
