We travelled towards Uliastai (remember we were here a few days ago) this morning.

Today's highlight - to view the Otgon Tenger Mountain, located about 60km from Uliastai.

Otgon Tenger Uul (Mountain) is the highest peak (3905m) in the Khangai Nuruu range. The mountain is part of the Otgon Tenger Strictly Protected Area and is sacred to the locals. Locals consider the mountain holy, and scaling the peak is therefore prohibited. The best place to view the mountain is Dayan Uul.

On the way to Dayan Uul, we stopped by a nomadic family constructing their ger. Nomadic families are generally very warm and friendly who welcome fellow travellers to their gers and offer milk tea. They let us tried riding on their horse. A man also showed us his traditional boots and cigar.

After spending some time at the ger, we travelled on to Dayan Uul. To have a better view of Otgon Tenger, we trekked up the mountain. It was windy at Dayan Uul.
