Lembah Bujang
The discovery of this bas-reliefs revealed that this area was influenced by Hindu in the old days. The base-relief are almost similar with what we have seen in Angkor.

Most of the old kingdom in South East Asia is located near to mountain and river. Mountain provide a protection to the kingdom, and water provide living needs to peoples.

Candi Bukit Batu Pahat
Candi Bukit Batu Pahat, one of the Candi on the hill. The Lembah Bujang is located between Gunung Jerai and Sungai Muda in south Kedah.

Candi Bukit Batu Pahat is believed was built in the 7th Century. It contains two parts, i.e the vimana and the mandapa.

This is Candi Bukit Batu Pahat. Normally the candi consists of three main sections: 1) papitha - the foot; 2) Adhistana-Stamba - the body and 3) Prastara-Stupi - the roof.

The Hindu candi consists of the vimana, or enclosed sanctuary, where the main icon was kept; and the mandapa, or open sided hall, with a roof supported by pillars. But now this candi is leaving only with the bricks.

Candi, a name that came from "chandika". It has two funtions, i.e as a sacred place and to conduct religious activities.
