After a restless night, I arrived in Kuala Lumpur not really knowing what to expect. As the plane was making its dissent, I could see a country overflowing with trees and rivers. From the sky, it looked like KL was somehow dropped in the middle of a rainforest. It was a spectacular sight!

Unfortunately, our plans of spending a few days along the coast had to be cancelled because we couldn't get train or bus tickets out of Kuala Lumpur. The week we were there was Ramzan so everything was sold out. We did go to Genting Highlands, which is Malaysia's version of Vegas, and Bukit Tingi, which is a quaint area nestled among the trees with a French village, a Japanese village, botanical gardens, and many other themed spots. The rest of our days were spent in KL shopping and eating 😊

The shopping was fantastic! KL is full of malls with shops from every designer imaginable from Tiffany diamonds and Prada handbags to Forever 21 and Zara (more my level of shopping :D). And the food was delicious - I had my fill of oriental food from dim sum to noodle soup. No Indian food for a whole week! :D I love Indian food, but after 4 months of it, I was delighted to have some other options!
