Dad (chauffeur of the year) drove me to the plane and soon enough I was condensed into that humming whining rattling steel teleportation limbo, not sure if this flight was gonna careen into the ground and if I would be pissed off I didn't get to catch the end of whatever the current film was (I had paid for the upgrade to entertainment after all). The ground did look cool though- i like seeing where man has turned the world rectilinear. And where nature is more expressive than that.
The movies/tv/games selection was as small as it was bland so a fiery airplane crash death coulda been worse... still always funny to see what words they sub in for swears and I give a little cheer when a swear kinda sneaks through. Also best sub of the movie "the watch" was the extended sequence where the characters used the swap of the word used to describe the sticky green alien goo substance as feeling, smelling, tasting like... GUM! Ha! Also my much desired chicken sandwich was unusual but tasty (hopefully these two things are unrelated...)
KL is hot n sticky. Prone to rain fits, at least today. Got to
see my first city rat today. And no, no, it wasn't uptown CBD in a suit during business hours (*chortle*... ok... too easy). Jolted my walking flow but then I got over it and was rewarded later with half a dozen more sightings. Also many ppl presumably without homes just lie on the pavement and power down. Its so warm with many awnings and feels relatively safe (kinda) that it works (??) I used to do this too but always the proper toff I maintained the social code of public grass space (non nature strip or road island thank you... I have my standards... *dubious look*). I had to go on a walk to satisfy my wanderlust and then another later as I couldn't sleep due to the doof factor coming from above rooftop bar. They had put me in a "partay" dorm rooms area. In fact i found out later the entire place was party central. On reflection, the naked english accented pakistani/indian shoulda told me that. Strange experience that. Somehow my brain told me she didnt realise that as she was facing me, with the sheet having slipped off totally in time with the sweep of her privacy
curtain, tucked over on her hands and knees with her back, hips and bum curves rising to the air and that that may trigger a response. It did. I left. I thought about it. I swore.
My bag got well repacked after I discovered my original system highly inadequate. I have so little here but I still have too much. I go for a walk. The muslim building i see has 6 point stars for as part of the pavement blocks. Kinda cool.
I return with precious bottled aqua. The doof beats through the walls. Retards drone on in competition for muppet traveller of the night. One has that familiar stoopid hate filled cliche dependant bogan drawl that makes me all gooey inside. 1000 ringgits he is the wiiinnnaaarrr this fine eve. I go for another walk. Is only 2 in the morning in strange city. I nearly kicked a thick cabled wire hanging low between posts. Nearly. Out of impulse. Prob ok and not electrofying. Had just earlier that night walked kinda into and through a road construction site as little as I could but still. There just isn't the organisation of perimeters and barriers as in aus. Screw workplace and public safety it seems to say. Costs money. Too many people anyways. Dogs try and scare me (one did, no bark, just clanked a low thick gate and standing stiff and tense, a monster.) Turned back. Music has stopped at the hostel, now just retardo-speak. Roof leaks, hall floods, security comes and the floor is cleaned, all others in my dorm slept through i found out next day but not me. I did sleep about 7:00 broken but restful till 11. Made some friends in the morning but cleared out of the party dorm. Read the warning signs explicitly telling of said party place on checkout. I was too frazzled to read before.
Oh yeah and had a chat with an airport duty free store security guard. He eventually told me he had been working a 48 hr shift. With a couple of hrs sleep here and there. Maybe it's the wet heat that gives energy. Maybe he exaggerated. Either way, solid effort.
