Geo: 6.15468, 116.147Well that was early. A 2.45am alarm was not the most welcome of sounds, as we rose at stupid o'clock to catch our flight north to the jungle. The lady at reception was lovely and we managed to get away with not paying for cocktails either night rather than just the first!! Bill paid, we were given an unexpected takeaway breakfast and greeted by our transport, who seemed much more friendly than he last, but alas still did not say a word to us.We drove through down town Kota and I was quite grateful that we stayed in the hotel yesterday and did not make the 2 hr round trip to see he city. There wasn't much to see. We drove passed the mosque, the tourist attraction of Kota, which was lit up in ... read more

Geo: 6.15468, 116.147The day was not too eventful after breakfast apart from the parrot who joined us on our room balcony as we got ready to head out. We sat, we read, we snoozed and listened to music on sun beds watching the world go by at the beach. We had to squeeze under the sunshade/umbrella for a few little showers, but nothing we could not manage! After getting ready for dinner we returned to the same bar as last night for a cocktail/beer before we ate. They always say a sunset is good after rain, they are not wrong!! It was incredible. It kept getting better!! The Malaysian restaurant was a buffet style all you can eat. I ate a lot!! Satay beef skewers were my favourite, but we tried a fair old mixture of ... read more

Geo: 6.15372, 116.148So this place is incredible!!The flight to KK was a little bumpy, but mainly consisted of a little food and broken sleep.... we had been on the go for a long time up until this point. It smelt like holiday when we got off the plane!! Our luggage as per usual, was the last off the plane and we were in the baggage collection for abt 20mins until the orange bag made an appearance! Finally mine appeared too, which meant it was now truly time to holiday!!We were met at arrivals by a guy with our names on a board and bundled into a mini van for the 40mins to the hotel. This place is posh. On arrival they rang a gong to signal our arrival and we were sat down in the foyer ... read more

Mimpian Jadi Golf Course located closed to seaside although you can't really see the sea from the fairway. In the morning the temperature is comfortable, but from 9am onward the heat rise to make the golfing more challenging. I like the buggy, it is powered using petrol, and one unforgettable experience is its making funny noise as you drive it.... read more

Also erstmal die drei kleinen, winzigen, Negativeindrücke nennen? "Hurra! Eine Riesenameise!" ... read more

Today started with Danika being up before everyone (not actually sure of the time as we woke up to find her sitting out on the balcony reading) as we had booked Dani and Zav in to be “Ranger for the day” at the Rasa Ria Resort where they have an Orang Utan rehabilitation centre. Before heading off to the Rasa we headed to the Gaya Street markets that are held every Sunday in KK. We got there by 8 and it was hot, noisy and bustling with people. There was a lot of the same same throughout the market but they were still worth a look around. There was lots of souvenirs, jewellery, cheap and crappy toys, clothing, handbags, live fish, puppies, kittens, guinea pigs, mice, turtles, and even toad wallets there was local coffee beans ... read more
