Today was the last morning on "The Island" or Tioman as other people call it.

Its a great little place to hang out for a couple of days, about 2 hours away by boat from the mainland. After catching a very early morning bus from Singapore we got there just in time to get on the last boat going there. During the boat ride we were entertained by the views as well as by a pair of small twins. Apparently one of them had pushed a stone up his nose, or something like that and needed medical attention which is not available on Tioman. They were very very funny. By chance the father of the twins was also the owner of one of the places we were considering staying, so that is where we went (motivated in no small part for me by the chance of seeing little ones again). We stayed in a little bungalow about 2 minutes walk from the beach. Of course pretty much everything on the island is a 2 minute walk from the beach because if you go a little more inland the island rises to a hill and there is nothing to build on there - just really dense jungle with wild animals. So everything is close to the shore. And by wild animals I mean monkeys and iguanas mostly. More on that later.
