the finish linethe finish linethe finish line

what a great feeling it was to be at the end and in record time with me leading the group:)
Friday 18th August

So after leaving the relative safety of the cave it was time for the final leg of our treck.

Unfortunately it had rained in the night and that meant one thing plenty of leeches for everyone. After walking for about 5 minutes Amean our guide pointed out something to me on the floor, i had no idea what it was until he told me it was a leech, and it truly was disgusting, i had only ever seen one fat and full of blood never skinny and hairy and when u get close to it it rears up and senses where your feet are and tries to suck on to you. So to keep the little blighters away from me i doused my feet and legs in 90%!d(MISSING)eet and headed off, probably poisoned myself in bathing in deet but what the hell at least the leeches didnt get me. Paul was not so fortunate however. When we stopped for our main break at the river we did a spot of fishing Amean started us off catching three and then handed me the rod and to my amazement i caught one, my first ever, Amean wanted

The Adventurers return
to keep them for eating and had thrown them on the floor to die and for him to pick up later. But i couldnt bare watching the life slowly drain out of them so i threw a few back without him knowing. Paul and Laura then had a try to with no luck, by this point the fish had figured out if you go for the bread on the hook you die! Ameal had started making lunch of noodle soup which was really nice although i couldnt enjoy it as much as i wanted to due to leeches being all over the place.

After luch we went for a paddle in the stream and relaxed for an hour or so.

After the paddle we set off again, but this time Amean decided he was too tired to lead the group and told me to do it which i did. Fortunately the rest of the treck went by without any creature sightings, although there were trees randomly falling which shit us up a bit wondering if there were elephants or bears around. Also thankfully for me inparticular there were no sightings as i was too busy watching out for leeches so if there was a snake on the path i would have never have seen it, oh well silly me i survived and lived to tell the tale.

Finally around 5 we made it to the finish line absolutely knackered and i have to say i have never sweated like that before in my whole life i must have lost about 2 stone, not that theres much of me anyway! And with that we got into the boat to take us back. Wih a feeling of accomplishment of doing the trecl and a sadness of leaving the jungle................i did not feel so sad about not seeing anymore leeches however😊

But it was time now for the dangers of drinking too much tea and eating too many scones in the Cameron Highlands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
