April 13th- 15th

Arrived in Melaka about 1pm. Had lunch at the bus station before getting taxi to hotel. Went for swim in pool - quite good size. Then went out to expore a bit. Very nice town which gets quite a lot of tourists. Chinatown was good with loads of different temples. Found really big shopping mall and walked round that a bit. Found good food stalls for dinner.
The next day we saw all the historical sights etc and then did soem shopping in the afternoon- very cheap- I got 2 pairs of shorts and a top for 7 quid, from a proper shop not market stall. Had pizza for dinner- we really needed a change from noodles and rice. Caught a rickshaw home- tehy are all brightly lit and decorated with flowers as well as some having loud music. It was slow progress as the bike had no gears and was very old!!

April 15th -18th KL

Arrived in KL at about 2pm. Walked to our hotel in Chinatown as not too far from the bus station. First impressions were that it's a bit like Istanbul. Hotel ok - room a bit small but only paying 20 pounds a night. Went to veggie chinese restaurant in evening- thank god they exist.
The next day we went up the Petronas towers and hang out at the mall. Best meal for a while at Blue Boy veggie place where the host ordered for us - it was great!.

April 17th
Went to Batu caves- really impressive. Lots fo monkeys but they were well- behaved . The gold statues and caves were amazing. Another veggie restaurant in the evening- great peanut sauce.!

April 18th
I'm up to date with the journal, hoorah! Got laundry done - not exactly nearby but it needed doing. Explored another huge shopping mall- had japanese for lunch in the 'Trendy Zone' as it was called! Back to Blue boy veggie place tonight!!
