Thursday we were supposed to stop briefly in Malacca, if it happened it must have been while we were asleep!
We had booked places on a tour called “The Asian Melting Pot” which was essential a photo-stop tour at all the tourist attractions.

Firstly a photo opportunity for the Shan Alam or “Blue Mosque”

Then along to Independence Square for a photo shoot of all the surrounding buildings.

We then had the opportunity to go up the 421-metre KL Tower. It takes approximately 1 minute from the ground to reach the observation floor. Some great sots of the surrounding city were to be had.

And lastly to the Suria KLCC, which is a premier shopping mall, nestling between the Petronas Twin Towers. Sad to say that our only purchases were from the Marks & Spencer shop.

KL seems to be determined to become areal modern city, whilst at the same
time preserving its history. I can’t help thinking that it sees Singapore as its yardstick for what it wants to achieve.

Again back to the boat to celebrate Chinese New Year that seems to involve giving out sweets and oranges. We were given so many oranges that we ended up leaving about 12 in the ships cabin when we left the ship
