Hello all,

We arrived safely and in one piece yesterday.....it was 29c when we arrived. Getting from the aiport to KL Sentral was easy, we decided to grab a taxi to the Hostel so we didnt have to wander about searching for it. However the driver just dropped us on a corner and pointed - so in true Bon style we headed in the opposite direction!!! Some Random French guy then gave us directions and we arrived at the hostel about 12.30am.

After a mixed night sleep we had a slow start and decided to explore Little India and China Town. In the afternoon we headed to Lake Gardens for what we hoped would be a relaxing afternoon in the park! It was insanely hot and we wandered around just enjoying the scenery, then the dark clouds started rolling in. We decided to rest under a little hut where we thought we would be sheltered and could just watch in comfort as the rain passed us by. The rain got heavier then the thunder and lightning started, the wind picked up and in 10 minutes we were in the middle of a tropical monsoon!! Fork lightening surrounded us, thunder

....Rain finally easing off
clashed overhead and visibility was really poor, we could only just make out the other poor sods stuck under the hut down the path from us. Not even the hut could keep us dry - we ended up standing huddled together for 2 hours before it finally subsided (lesson 1: Always take a poncho!).

Later we thought we would check out the Petronas Towers at night.....and Bon decided he was going to try his first Malaysian Dish (I'm still sick and could only just handle some Burger King Fries!).

Day 2 - early start, we headed off to the Petronas Towers and got our tickets for the Skybridge tour. Long wait for about an hour and a half but so glad we did it. We may head to the Batu Caves shortly depending on how I feel, If not we'll just mooch around until we catch our night train to Arau and then Langkawi.

Speak to you all soon.
