We wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It truly is not the same being away, but it is special in its own way. We are lucky to have each other and the company of a friend we met in Hanoi 2 months ago, Winnie (from the Netherlands). Mmmm...Lunch on Day 2

It is definitely better than it looks. The dark stuff is beef Jerky, the sloppy stuff is some vegetable dish, and spicy sauce for the staple item...sticky rice.

It was a VERY long and steep hike up. It made the hike so much easier thinking that the locals do this trek daily!

This was at the very end of our trek, everyone tired, yet Erin and Yai managed to do some yoga postures on the rocks.

Our bus wasn't there to pick us up so we played some games to pass some time. We played Quiddler (thanks Mom =) and "Say a Laos phrase and try to guess what we said"...it was so funny as tone is soooooo important with the language.

It was so much fun to play this word game. The 2 Laos guides teamed up and we all had so much fun spelling and laughing. The guides would get so excited when the spelt a word or two!
