Day 4: September 20, 2009
First of all, I just realized I’ve been putting all my dates as August, so now I have to go back and change that…
Woke up, talked to mom and Chris
At noon, a bunch of us met up to go to Harajuku. When we got there, we ate in this building with a bunch of restaurants, and it ended up all the guys ate Thai and all the girls ate Chinese. Then we searched around for the main street; it took forever, but we found it. Some of the boys broke off while we were in a store, so it ended up with just 6 of us. We walked the streets and went into a few stores. I got yelled at because I was trying to take a picture of these Harajuku girls, but I wasn’t allowed to take pictures in the stores; oh well. We ended up not going to the Meiji shrine because it was extremely crowed, and we were so over all the crowds; we have time to go back later.
So we finally got out of that extremely large crowd, and decided we wanted something to do
Claire's
There are two Claire's on the main street of Harajuku --John suggested Shinjuku and we went. We couldn’t find anything fun to do, so we went to the park for a rest and to figure out what else we wanted to do. Watching skaters in the park sufficed for a bit, but then we decided to go back to Shibuya, where there’s more to do.
At Shibuya, we went to another underground restaurant, and it took them FOREVER to get our orders, then they forgot Maggie’s food, so we sat there for a long time. We had planned on doing other things that night, but after waiting so long for everything in the restaurant, we decided to go home after a quick purikura run.
OMG purikura is fun! Really it’s just another photo booth thing you see in the mall… But they put music to it, and you’re supposed to do specific poses you choose, and it only gives you a certain amount of time, so it’s actually a lot more fun. You get to decorate the pictures with little pictures --like hearts and bows, etc. We haven’t actually divided those up yet…
We go home, get on the wrong train, get off and get on the
Crow in the park
Japanese crows are huge... It's scary right one, and take the long way home because we get to sit down longer, and becaue we don’t want to get lost…
We stop by 7-11 on the way home to pick up some stuff to eat for the next day. I got some flan ice cream stuff because I’ve never had flan before, but I figured I’d try it since it’s everywhere…
We make plans to meet again at noon tomorrow, because, for the love of God, we have to get essentials of we’re all gonna die…
