The Shinkansen ride from Tokyo to Kyoto was fun. It's an incredibly smooth ride considering you're on a train reaching speeds of up to 180 mph. I was so lucky to be there for literally the best weak to catch the Japanese maples putting on their show.

Cleansing at the temple

Every temple had a station to cleanse yourself before entering.... This was done by rinsing your hands or taking a sip. This was at Tenryuji Temple - what was one of my favorites.

In Nara, there were deer everywhere

No zoom here, that close... they were fearless of people.
