Kuta Beach
A great beach for learning to surf. We were in the queue for 20 minutes before I realised that we couldn't pay for our Indonesian Visa at Customs and behind waiting were scores of people holding their 50 US dollar visa receipts, too late he was calling us forward! We got away with it jumping the visa queue as Lynn waited with customs, close call and a bit stressful, but we arrived in Bali late in the dark to be taken to our Hotel in Kuta by "the transporter", more on him later.
Kuta's a crazy place with narrow lanes called gang, we stayed in a quiet gang halfway between the beach and the main drag at a place called Unns. In Kuta everyone trys to sell sell sell, hawkers everywhere ,keeping an eye on where you go as its easy to get lost while trying not to trip on the cracked pavements and avoiding getting hit by scooters is what Kuta is about... the beach is why we came, sun and surf and a few excursions to boot.
Once out of Kuta you can appreciate the more genuine Bali. We did this with the help of Brennan and Jon Jon his assistant/car.We did two trips ,for a
