When we first got to bali we stayed in 2 diff hotels, Adi Dharma and Masa Inn. Oh and i would totally recomend the Masa Inn to anyone who wants to be centeral as it was right in the middle of Poppies 1. While looking for a more long term accom ($$cheaper) and on our last day a bali friend came through!!!
We found a house half way between Kuta and Legian (more so Legian) which is kinda like a duplex but with 2 huge houses!!! and a pool in the middle, we are in the back house and the people who own it live in the front house with there 3 young boys, which Ax thinks is great sharing the pool with them.
Our house has 5 bedrooms all with ensuites and a outdoor kitchen/dinning that looks out to the pool, but we have only rented out the 1 bedroom as this is all we need and its costing less than $700 a month!!!!!!!!
The house is only 6 months old so we were first to live in it (which ment brand new beds 😊 ) So the owner Jufri was asking us what it needed....Well the first
item to be purchased was a fridge!!!! warm beer i dont think so!!!!! and next was a fan in the dinning room, as it is all open we needed tome sore of circulation. A dinning table was in the process of being made but some more seating was still needed so he also got some bar stools which Axel loves eating his breaky at. Oh and the aircon in our room needed to be bigger so we got a larger aircon to keep us cool while sleeping!!!
Troy even helped out with the gardening and bought a whipper-snipper for the grass cutting, as the scissors were a little slow!!!LOL
We shared the house with some people from Jawa that stayed here over new years but they were out most of the time sight seeing so didnt get to chat much at all. They had a yound son with them Gillbert who was about 10 and Axel asked him to come swimming but his mum said that he couldnt swim...but he went in anyway. And boy was it a sight!!!!! if you could think of a blind cat on ice trying to get from 1 side to another!!!!! all arms
and legs spread out, but the water was only up to his tummy.I think im just too used to Aussie kids learning to swim at an earlier age.
WOW new years was an eye opener here in Kuta!!! sooo packed and so busy. We walked down to the beach with our local friends Danny and Leonie and there kids. We had bought some fire works a few days earlier and were saving them for the night, but when we got to the beach where everyone was lighting them up we realised that none were needed as EVERYONE else had the same idea, i have never seen so many fire works in my life!!!!!!!!! But the boys had a ball when we got home and lit our own fire works up.
We have our fav resturants that we go to in poppies 1 where they all know us by name and what we like to order!!!!!they are soo friendly there and always welcome us with a huge smile, even put cartoons on the big screen for Axel to watch while eating dinner which means everyone else there have to aswell!!!! which is funny to see cause if you watch
all the other people they are enjoying the cartoons as well!!!
Have also done all the usual stuff as well such as Waterbomb, Safari Park, Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua. We have hired a scooter while here so we can go where we want when we want!!! and so much easier to get through the traffic especially over the silly season!!!

Happy New Year!!
Hi you guys Well it looks like heaven over there.! Your house looks fantastic so big and clean. Love the pool too. Looks like you're having such a relaxing time I'm totally envious. Each photo you send of Axel he changes he's matured in his face no longer the little toddler. And I like Troy's beard too. We're all good here survived a big christmas day we had both lunch and dinner, talk about My Restaurant Rules we've never feed so many people in one day but we did it. Hannah's working for Bruce's work at the moment cause her other job didn't work out long story but any way she'll find the job of her dreams eventually. Jeremy is having a "restful" christmas break before hopefully starting his plumbing apprenticeship in feb.Yes we have another plumber in the family so hopefully our loo will never be blocked!!!!! Well give our love to the boys and have fun in Bali and we look forward to your next Blogg..!!! Liz x
